The role focuses on resolving claim denials, managing follow-up with insurance companies, and working with corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals in a fast-paced clinical billing environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical collections
- Experience with physician billing and collections of medical claims (CMS-1500 / form 1500)
- Understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), claim denials, and reason codes
- Knowledge of CMS claim processing guidelines for corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals
- Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and use online portals
- Strong documentation and follow-up skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and function as a team player
- Strong verbal, reading, and writing skills
- Self-motivated, meticulous, and organized
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
