As an Insurance A/R Specialist, you will collect payments for an assigned segment of the insurance accounts receivable and perform collection duties in accordance with federal and state regulations.
You will work claims through follow-up, resubmission, denial resolution, and account maintenance to help ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for ophthalmology services.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of medical billing or healthcare insurance follow-up experience.
2 years of experience in denials and collections.
Active knowledge of CMS guidelines, contracted insurance guidelines, and coding policies.
Strong computer literacy, organizational skills, attention to detail, math skills, and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with team members, clinic staff, payers, and patients.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
