The Lake Whatcom Residential and Treatment Center (LWC) is a licensed nonprofit providing residential and community mental health services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
This full-time Billing & Administrative Support Specialist role manages electronic billing and collections, supports the revenue cycle, and helps ensure accurate and timely reimbursement from Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Medicare, and Medicaid.
The position is based in Bellingham, WA and may be worked remotely, but the candidate must live within commuting distance.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Billing and Coding
- Experience with Managed Care Organization (MCO) billing
- Experience in behavioral health, community health, or healthcare settings
- Accounting, bookkeeping, or revenue cycle management experience
Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of medical billing, insurance verification, healthcare administration, or related experience
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Knowledge of insurance billing processes, claim submission, payment posting, and denial management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
