NHC HealthCare Columbia is seeking a full-time Health Information Management (HIM) Director to join its senior care team.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and confidential health records in accordance with NHC policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and applicable health information management standards. The director works closely with center leadership and regional HIM support to keep medical records and health information processes accurate, organized, and compliant.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical records or Health Information Management experience preferred
- ICD-10-CM coding experience preferred
- Skilled Nursing Facility experience, including familiarity with PDPM, preferred
- MDS experience preferred
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CCA, CCS, or other applicable HIM certification preferred, but not required
- AHIMA membership preferred, but not required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information appropriately
- Strong computer and communication skills
