Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Commercial Specialist for Air Evac Lifeteam.
Location: On-site or remote, United States
This role focuses on medical billing within the revenue cycle, with an emphasis on commercial payer and Blue Cross/Blue Shield claim processing, payer portal navigation, claim status verification, and patient follow-up to complete billing requirements. The position is responsible for accurate and timely handling of billing tasks in accordance with office policies and procedures.
Key duties include examining patient records, supporting process improvements, submitting and following up on COB or additional information requests, making claim inquiries through portals and other communication channels, meeting production goals, and identifying recurring rejection and denial trends for leadership.
Required
- Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of navigating insurance payer portals
- Ability to communicate professionally, verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- 1 year of call center experience
- Strong knowledge of insurance billing guidelines and policies
- Experience with commercial insurance processes and policies
- Experience with Veterans' Administration claims
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or significant relevant work experience
