This position processes accurate and timely billings to insurance carriers and helps ensure correct and timely payment. The role works in Epic and HealthCareIP systems, handles secondary and tertiary claims, follows up on unpaid or incorrectly paid claims, processes appeals and write-offs, researches credit balances, processes refunds or adjustments, and supports payer communication and special projects related to accounts receivable clean-up.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficient basic math skills
- Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing
- Team-oriented attitude
- Positive, resourceful approach to department and clinic goals
Desired
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, medical terminology, and medical insurance billing
