A noninvasive physiologic study, as described by CPT® Code 93982, involves the assessment of a wireless pressure sensor that has been previously implanted in an aneurysmal sac during an endovascular repair procedure. This study is crucial for monitoring the condition of the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) post-repair. The procedure is designed to be performed at regular intervals, either yearly or semi-annually, to detect any potential complications that may arise, such as repressurization of the aneurysm or the occurrence of an endoleak. The wireless sensor, which is approximately the size of a grain of rice, is engineered to measure critical parameters including pressure, flow, and temperature within the aneurysmal sac.
