Dental Patient Services Coordinator

Under the direction of the Dental and Optometry Administrative Supervisor, the Patient Services Coordinator I is responsible for providing exemplary customer service, patient registration and documentation, appointment scheduling, managing patient flow, collection of daily cash, and opening and closing the receptionist station daily. The work schedule includes 8-hour shifts between 8 am and 7 pm on weekdays as needed.

Duties include:

  • Provide excellent customer service including greeting clients professionally and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Perform patient registration accurately, including entering new patient demographic and insurance information and verifying existing patient data.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and calculate co-pays.
  • Schedule appointments based on patient needs and provider availability.
  • Collect daily payments and perform audit procedures, including reporting discrepancies and running daily reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year healthcare setting experience.
  • Willingness to work with diverse patient populations.
  • Availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings until 7 pm.
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintain professionalism and cultural awareness.
  • Preferred: experience using Epic and Microsoft Office, cash handling knowledge, bilingual English/Spanish.

Physical requirements include the ability to sit and keyboard for extended periods.
