Comfort Medical, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coloplast, seeks a Medical Records Specialist to join their team. This role involves interacting with medical facilities and providers' offices to collect medical record documentation, manage medical files, and scan records into the database.
Candidates should be located in or near Coral Springs, FL. The role is primarily remote, but requires attendance at in-person training sessions up to three times annually.
Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining customer medical records, reviewing records for missing documentation, ensuring correction of deficient documents, contacting referral sources to obtain missing documents, ensuring accuracy of files and scans, collecting and authenticating doctor’s orders prior to billing, resolving complaints to ensure customer retention, reporting errors and quality deficiencies, fulfilling information requests, maintaining equipment, participating in educational opportunities, enhancing organizational reputation through ownership and problem solving, effective communication with teammates, and maintaining knowledge of Medicare policies and regulations affecting sales and physician interactions.
Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, clerical and data entry proficiency, willingness for telephone sales, ability to work independently, and ideally call center experience.
