Provides support for medical records collection activities including outreach to providers via phone, fax, mail, electronic medical record system retrieval, and direct on-site pick up.
Responsible for loading medical records and reports from provider offices into the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) application.
Supports annual HEDIS and other audits by organizing provider outreach, pursuit, collection, and upload of medical records into the internal database.
Provides project management support to leadership through coordination and collection of medical records and data with HEDIS staff.
Participates in vendor meetings related to medical record collection.
Some travel related to medical records collection may be required.
- At least 1 year customer service experience, preferably in healthcare administrative support or equivalent education/experience.
- Valid unrestricted driver's license, reliable transportation, and adequate auto insurance.
- Excellent customer service and active listening skills.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
- Ability to manage files, schedules, and information efficiently.
- Effective communication with staff, clinicians, and leadership.
- Strong prioritization, detail orientation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software.
Preferred:
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
- Experience in medical records collection and managed care.
- Basic knowledge of HEDIS and NCQA.
- Project planning experience.
