The ROI Medical Records Specialist processes release of information requests efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with patient privacy rights, HIPAA, and authorization requirements. Responsibilities include retrieving and returning medical charts, scanning and transmitting records, validating requests, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to client policies and ethical standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma (or GED), minimum 2 years experience in medical records or similar setting preferred, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, strong organizational skills, typing speed of 50 wpm, ability to operate fax, copier, and scanning machines, willingness to learn new equipment and processes, self-motivation, teamwork, customer satisfaction skills, and multi-tasking ability.
