Medical Records Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Rockford Center, a 138-bed mental health facility in Newark, DE. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient health records within a behavioral health hospital setting. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating patient medical records in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA, processing release of information requests, auditing medical records for accuracy, scanning and filing documents timely, collaborating with clinical staff to resolve documentation issues, assisting with audits and legal requests, monitoring record retention and secure destruction, responding to inquiries professionally while maintaining confidentiality, and staying current with health information management practices and regulations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree or some college credits preferred, minimum 1 year of experience in a medical or healthcare setting, familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems preferred, excellent customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, and discretion handling sensitive information.

Requirements & Qualifications
