This position processes all release of information requests timely and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction while safeguarding patient privacy and complying with HIPAA and company policies.
Responsibilities include completing release of information requests, retrieving and returning medical charts, scanning and transmitting records, date stamping and highlighting data, validating requests and authorizations, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, providing excellent customer service, handling incoming requests, maintaining professionalism and a clean work area, adhering to state laws and fee structures, accepting assignments and backlogs, and adhering to privacy, security, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (GED) required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
- Typing speed of 50 wpm
- Ability to use fax, copier, and scanning machines
- Quick learner for new equipment and processes
- Self-motivated team player
- Proven customer satisfaction skills
- Ability to multi-task
