As a Medical Records Specialist, you will ensure accurate and secure management of medical records to help participants receive the best care possible. This role involves processing medical records, collaborating with healthcare teams, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA, DHCS, and CMS regulations.
Responsibilities include securing and maintaining medical record consent forms, processing incoming medical records, handling urgent record requests, ensuring compliant release of records, verifying accuracy, managing electronic participant charts, coordinating with clinic teams and third-party vendors, supporting scheduling and administrative tasks, and collaborating across teams such as Risk Adjustment and Enrollment. The role also encourages curiosity about AI to improve operations.
Qualifications require a High School Diploma or GED, with additional medical records management training preferred. Healthcare front office experience of 3+ years in medical records handling, strong administrative skills, and familiarity with EMR systems are preferred. Certifications like CNA and Medical Records Specialist training are advantageous. Experience with older adult populations and detailed knowledge of medical terminology and compliance standards is valued.
The position requires highly organized and detail-oriented individuals with strong communication and teamwork skills. Tuberculosis screening is a condition of employment. The role offers a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on compassionate care.
