Medical Records Processing Specialist

This entry-level onsite Medical Records Processing Specialist position is based in McKinney, TX (floater role supporting multiple local locations).

Duties include completing all incoming Release of Information (ROI) requests timely and accurately, maintaining 100% ROI accuracy, completing STAT requests within an hour, and ensuring a 24-hour turnaround for others. Responsibilities also include validating and authorizing release of PHI, performing quality checks, maintaining confidentiality and security of medical records, scanning ROI requests into charts, abiding by client ROI policies, maintaining a clean and professional work environment, updating facility guides, providing excellent customer service, handling patient complaints and communicating effectively to achieve maximum customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a fast learner, dependable, quick worker, team player with a positive attitude who strives to do more.

Salary ranges from $17.00 to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

  • Ability to process release of information requests accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations regarding PHI
  • Ability to meet strict turnaround times for STAT and other requests
  • Quality assurance skills for checking all releases and invoicing
