The Medical Records Specialist ensures that the PACE Organization's medical records system (both electronic and hard copy) is maintained in compliance with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies. This role supports smooth and efficient clinical documentation management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the medical records system following state, federal, and corporate regulations.
- Organize and ensure accessibility of medical records for staff and providers, in electronic and paper formats.
- Respond to medical record requests from various departments including Enrollment, PACE PCPs, and Finance.
- Assist in training staff on medical record processes and provide guidance on compliance and best practices.
- Ensure confidentiality of all medical records and track all requests.
- Support additional projects as needed to contribute to team success.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in applied science or science
- 3+ years of experience in medical records
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
