Natividad Medical Center is seeking a full-time Trauma Registrar to work in the Trauma Services Department. The role focuses on identifying, collecting, and abstracting data for trauma registries, including the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), ensuring data accuracy, correcting deficiencies, and reporting in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key duties include:
- Identifying qualifying trauma cases per American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards.
- Abstracting data from patient medical records for statistical reporting and trauma registries.
- Maintaining an electronic trauma registry following ACS accreditation standards.
- Utilizing AIS/ISS and ICD-10 coding for data compilation.
- Generating reports for performance improvement and research.
- Maintaining confidentiality and quality control of patient data.
- Participating in continuing education and updating registry-related policies.
Qualifications:
- Preferably one year experience as a trauma registrar or two years in data registry management.
- Associate Degree in a health-related field with ICD-10 coursework.
- Certification as a Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) and Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) highly desirable.
