Intake and Scheduling Specialist - Home Care

Human Touch Home Care is seeking a qualified Intake and Scheduling Specialist for their DC office. This role requires experience with home healthcare intake and scheduling, including authorization, insurance verification, and eligibility. The specialist will manage medical records, handle client inquiries, schedule home care services, and support communication with clinicians regarding admissions and discharges. Additional duties include maintaining accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information, preparing correspondence such as denial letters, managing payroll data entry for clinicians, and maintaining confidentiality and security of medical records. The candidate must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED (AA/BA/BS preferred), at least 2 years experience (with 1 year in home health/home care nursing preferred), strong computer skills including MS Office and medical terminology knowledge, and familiarity with HMO, Medicaid, and Medicare payors. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

The position offers full-time employment with benefits including dental, health, and vision insurance, paid time off, sick time, employee discounts, and flexible scheduling from Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, no weekends.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably 1 year in home health or home care nursing

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Windows OS, MS Office, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of HMO, Medicaid, and Medicare Payors
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High School degree/GED required; AA or BA/BS in related field preferred
