Medical Records/Central Supply/Nursing Department Scheduler

The Medical Records/Central Supply/Scheduler position is responsible for creating new medical records by gathering appropriate record folders and content, assigning and recording new record numbers, verifying existing record numbers, inputting and recording locations to computer, and delivering records. This position also maintains the Nursing Department schedule and orders medical supplies as needed.

Responsibilities include timely ordering and stocking of medical supplies, gathering patient demographic information, initiating medical records, maintaining chart availability, retrieving medical records following proper procedures, communicating record availability to healthcare providers, stocking nurses stations, organizing nurse stations weekly, handling rented equipment, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Medication Aide preferred
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous scheduling experience desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Resourceful, tactful, and proactive problem-solving abilities

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress
  • Ability to push, pull, move, or lift at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry up to 50 feet
  • May assist in resident evacuation during emergencies
Requirements & Qualifications
