Medical Records Assistant

VASONA CREEK HEALTHCARE CENTER

Vasona Creek Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Records Assistant to join our healthcare team. This full-time, benefitted role is essential to maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential patient records while supporting clinical and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, organize, and maintain medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient information
  • Retrieve, file, and scan medical records as needed
  • Assist with record audits and respond to internal and external record requests
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and facility policies
  • Support interdisciplinary teams with documentation needs
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in medical records or healthcare administration preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
  • Strong communication and time-management skills

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Status: Full-time
  • Pay: $19.00 per hour and up, depending on experience (DOE)
