Responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients and managing check-in/check-out procedures
- Collecting patient information and maintaining updated charts in EMA
- Scheduling and managing appointments
- Verifying insurance and handling authorizations
- Collecting payments including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and cosmetic sales
- Maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
- Communicating professionally and managing patient concerns
- Supporting clinical and administrative staff with daily operations
Required skills and abilities:
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of insurance types, billing, and documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMA software, and Lightspeed
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of medical office or customer service experience preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare operations
- Additional training or certification in medical office administration preferred
Equipment used includes Microsoft 365 apps, Klara, EMA, ModMed, and lab systems.
