Patient Care Coordinator - Dermatology

Join our team at Skin and Cancer Institute if you are passionate about dermatology and skin health. This role is patient-focused and requires managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and supporting clinical staff administratively. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting patients and managing check-in/check-out procedures
  • Collecting patient information and maintaining updated charts in EMA
  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Verifying insurance and handling authorizations
  • Collecting payments including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and cosmetic sales
  • Maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
  • Communicating professionally and managing patient concerns
  • Supporting clinical and administrative staff with daily operations

Required skills and abilities:

  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of insurance types, billing, and documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMA software, and Lightspeed
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality

Education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of medical office or customer service experience preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare operations
  • Additional training or certification in medical office administration preferred

Equipment used includes Microsoft 365 apps, Klara, EMA, ModMed, and lab systems.
