Medical Records Clerk

Immediate opening for Medical Records/Release of Information Specialist.

Full time job opportunity with one of the largest healthcare organizations in the area.

Full training provided.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM.

Location: Somerville, MA (On-site only).

This position assists incoming callers with requests and provides excellent customer service with a patient-centered attitude. Safeguarding and protecting patients' privacy is essential, ensuring access to medical information complies with authorization, policy, and HIPAA regulations. Familiarity with medical terminology and medical office processes is expected. Duties include opening, scanning, and sorting mail.

Essential functions include assisting callers with submitting medical records requests, providing status updates, and routing calls internally to hospital departments as needed.

Pay is $20 per hour. This is a contract to hire position.

Qualifications:

  • One year of healthcare administration experience or two years of inbound call experience.
  • Experience with medical records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
