The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for assembling, organizing, and maintaining patients' health information and charts. Perform basic administrative, operational, customer support, and data-entry tasks on routine, structured assignments. Report to the Center Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all medical forms are identified, completed, and signed
- Enter required patient information into the electronic records system
- Communicate with physicians and staff to clarify diagnoses or obtain additional information
- Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Operate within defined work expectations, quality standards, and priorities under close supervision and established guidelines
Requirements:
- 2+ years of medical records experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Quick to learn new systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel locally, with occasional overnight stays
- Committed to enhancing consumer experiences within a continuous improvement environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Previous healthcare or health insurance experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and/or ICD-9 codes
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Onsite at Winter Haven, FL
This patient-facing role requires participation in the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
Compensation includes eligibility for bonus incentive plan based on company or individual performance.
