We are seeking a Medical Records Technician to support Non-Clinical Case Management Services for the Vermont Army National Guard (VTARNG) State Medical Detachment, Green Mountain Armory, at Camp Johnson in Colchester, VT.

As the Medical Records Technician, you will provide administrative and technical support for medical records management, ensuring accurate data entry, timely document processing, regulatory compliance, and reliable information flow supporting Soldier medical readiness and case management operations. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Typical duties:

  • Support Periodic Health Assessments and Soldier Readiness Processing events by organizing and managing required medical documentation.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining electronic case management profiles through accurate data entry and document uploads.
  • Compile and format monthly case status reports by organizing, validating, and tracking required data elements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records to support compliance with Individual Medical Readiness and deployment requirements.
  • Safeguard protected health information complying with HIPAA standards.
  • Enter and update medical and administrative data across required systems, ensuring completeness and timeliness.
  • Assemble and reconcile documentation for Medical Evaluation Board and Physical Evaluation Board processes.
  • Track documentation and maintain logs to support coordination with Government personnel and compliance monitoring.
  • Organize records to support consistent and accurate communication efforts with Soldiers and stakeholders.
  • Compile data for profile management reporting and ensure timely submission.
  • Log and forward medical documents within required timelines, ensuring proper routing.
  • Provide documentation support for monthly case reviews, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and accessible.

Qualifications:

  • Authorization to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Records Technician with VTARNG or similar entity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Medical records technician certification, e.g., Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS).
  • Familiarity with DOD Medical Readiness Systems and Policies (MEDPROS, MEDCHART, eCase, AHLTA / MHS GENESIS).
  • Ability to comply with Army Medical Readiness Regulations and Privacy Laws (HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of Medical Evaluation Board / Physical Evaluation Board processes.
