This Patient Scheduler role serves as the primary contact for patients and external facilities to schedule appointments via phone and electronic correspondence.
Responsibilities include collecting, verifying, and communicating patient insurance benefit details, educating patients on insurance verification and estimated financial responsibility, confirming appointments with detailed information, and coordinating with healthcare providers and medical staff for efficient scheduling.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 2+ years of customer service, appointment scheduling, or healthcare experience, 1+ years experience with EHR systems (athenaOne preferred), strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Preferred qualifications: bachelor's degree, 1+ years remote work experience in high-volume call environments, proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, and a customer service mindset with compassion and professionalism.
