This role supports HIM departmental clerical activities such as managing workflow queues (Horizon Patient Folder, McKesson Patient Folder), resolving unbilled accounts, facilitating physician suspension processes, and serving as the initial on-site contact for Facility Leadership and Medical Staff when the HIM Leader is off-site. Serve as the liaison to the Facility HIM Leader and Regional HIM Director as needed.
Responsibilities include assisting with FPO and Records Management duties, supporting Facility HIM and Birth Certificate Clerks, training and development, data entry of unbilled reason codes, managing work queues adhering to workflow guidelines, processing Release of Information requests, managing off-site paper records, retrieving discharged medical records, reconciling records with patient discharge listings, ensuring productivity and quality standards, aiding physicians in record completion, and providing training on record completion technology like HPF/MPF, MEDITECH, and 3M 360 Encompass.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year HIM department experience with incomplete record management focus strongly preferred
- RHIA or RHIT certification preferred
