Responsibilities include retrieving and returning patient medical charts, scanning and transmitting records, validating requests, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires knowledge of state laws, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining confidentiality and ethics when handling medical records.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical records or similar setting preferred
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
- Typing speed of 50 wpm
- Ability to operate fax, copier, and scanning equipment
- Self-motivated team player with proven customer satisfaction skills
- Ability to multitask and learn new processes quickly
