Subrogation and Medical Records Clerk

Jacoby & Meyers Accident & Injury Lawyers

Core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Verbal and written communication with clients, health insurance plans, and third-party lien holders to obtain health plan information and set up third-party lien accounts
  • Review of medical records, billing statements, and explanation of benefits to determine health plan interest in a case
  • Audit lien itemization for accident related services and request amended liens
  • Identify primary, secondary, tertiary plans pertaining to federal, state, and private health plans
  • Ability to handle volume in a fast paced environment
  • Collection of medical records and bills

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Good follow-up and follow through
  • Minimum 1 year of stable work experience (with college degree), or 2-3 years if no college degree
  • Able to multitask and eager to learn and grow
  • Works well under pressure
  • Detail oriented and a team player

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year university or Associate's degree with 1 year experience
