This role supports medical record retrieval efforts for quality, compliance, and risk adjustment programs. The position is primarily remote, focused on accessing electronic medical records (EMR) using secure, HIPAA-compliant systems. Occasional onsite retrieval assignments require local or air travel.
Primary remote duties include retrieving medical records from EMR/EHR systems, performing quality checks for completeness and legibility, scanning, indexing, validating, and uploading medical documentation, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, and communicating professionally with provider offices.
Onsite retrieval involves conducting medical record retrieval at facilities when remote access is unavailable, traveling locally or via air as required, managing company equipment, and receiving compensation by hourly or per record pay with mileage reimbursed locally.
The position requires managing tasks independently with strict confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA and privacy protocols, and effective communication with healthcare providers.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with EMR/EHR portals or secure digital tools

- Remote EMR download work pays $13-$14 per hour
- Onsite medical record retrieval pays $20 per hour or $3 per completed record, whichever yields higher pay
- Mileage reimbursement and travel accommodations covered for onsite assignments requiring travel
