As a Medical Records Specialist, you ensure accurate and secure management of medical records, facilitating the best care for participants by processing records, collaborating with healthcare teams, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA, DHCS, and CMS standards.
Responsibilities include managing signed medical record consents, processing incoming medical records from providers, handling urgent and legal requests, securely releasing records to authorized providers, reviewing documentation accuracy, updating participant charts in EMR systems, coordinating with clinics and third-party vendors, providing administrative support, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including Risk Adjustment and Enrollment.
Qualifications require a High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years healthcare front office experience preferred, especially in medical records management. Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Records training is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, standard office procedures, EMR systems, and compliance regulations is essential. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are key.

- Minimum 3 years of healthcare front office experience, preferably in medical records.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of filing, record keeping, office software, and equipment.
- Experience working with older adults and frail elderly populations valued.
- Advanced understanding of medical terminology and compliance with HIPAA, DHCS, CMS.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple requests.
- Hourly wage range: $20 to $27.50
