My client, a reputable healthcare company in Somerville, MA, is hiring for a Medical Records Specialist!
This position assists incoming callers with requests and providing great customer service. An upbeat, patient-centered attitude is a must!
Employees must safeguard and protect patients' right to privacy at all times.
Responsible for ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to patients' medical information and that all releases of information comply with request, authorization, company policy, and HIPAA regulations.
Applicants should have familiarity with medical terminology and medical office processes and procedures. Tasks include opening, scanning, and sorting mail correctly.
Assist incoming callers with the process of submitting medical records requests, provide status updates regarding requests, and route calls internally to different hospital departments as needed.
Qualifications include a minimum of 6 months prior inbound call center experience, strong technical/computer skills, general working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, great communication skills, ability to multi-task, type 50 wpm, and operate fax, copier, and scanning machines.
