This position processes release of information (ROI) requests accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with patient privacy, HIPAA regulations, and company policies. Responsibilities include retrieving and returning medical charts, scanning and transmitting medical records as requested, date-stamping and validating requests, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, delivering excellent customer service, handling inquiries, and maintaining knowledge of state laws and fee structures.
The role requires maintaining confidentiality, safeguarding patient information, and adhering to policies and regulations.
Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, preferably two years' experience in a medical records setting, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, excellent organizational and multitasking skills, ability to type 50 wpm, and familiarity with fax, copier, and scanning equipment.
