The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for assembling, organizing, and maintaining patients' health information and charts. Perform basic administrative, operational, customer support, and data-entry tasks, primarily working on routine, structured assignments. Report to the Center Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all medical forms are identified, completed, and signed
- Enter required patient information into the electronic records system
- Communicate with physicians and staff to clarify diagnoses or obtain additional information
- Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Operate within defined work expectations, quality standards, and priorities, under close supervision and established guidelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Records experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Quick learner of new systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel locally, with occasional overnight stays
- Commitment to enhancing consumer experiences within a continuous improvement environment
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Previous healthcare or health insurance experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and/or ICD-9 codes
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Location: Onsite at Wesley Chapel, FL / Conviva Wiregrass
This is a patient-facing role and part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. Selected candidates will be required to undergo TB screening.
The position offers a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
