Purpose of this position: Support the Resident Services Coordinator with clerical responsibilities for the Resident Support Department, consistent with the philosophy of the living center.
Preferred qualifications include MA or CNA, but these are not required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to perform physical and mental tasks of the job. Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and judgment are necessary. Proficiency in telephone use, word processing, Excel, and clerical tasks is required. Effective communication in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
Essential duties include scheduling resident assessments and service plan conferences; maintaining files for resident and employee vaccinations; assisting with record audits; setting up new resident files ensuring all documentation is present; managing access to electronic systems; monitoring equipment inventory; ensuring HIPAA compliance; coordinating billing documentation; scheduling outside services; assisting with staff scheduling and attendance monitoring; and performing additional duties as required for smooth operations.
General responsibilities: Serve as a goodwill ambassador, comply with infection control guidelines, communicate staff performance, assist new staff training, model exemplary resident service, adhere to policies and licensing requirements, maintain positive and professional communication, and provide resident care support as needed.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 20 pounds, stand, bend, twist, stoop, squat, sit, kneel, pull, push, and walk long distances on hard surfaces for extended periods. Some repetitive movements like typing are required. Hearing ability for telephone and radio communication and the ability to comprehend instructions verbally and in writing is necessary. Emotional stability to handle resident care needs, including chronic illness and challenging situations, is important.
