The Medical Records Specialist ensures the PACE Organization’s medical records system (both electronic and hard copy) is maintained in compliance with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies. This role is essential in supporting a smooth, efficient operation of clinical documentation management.
Responsibilities include managing and maintaining the medical records system in compliance with state, federal, and corporate regulations; organizing and ensuring medical records are easily accessible for staff and providers, both electronically and in paper format; responding to medical record requests from various departments including Enrollment, PACE PCPs, and Finance; assisting in training staff on medical record processes and providing guidance on compliance and best practices; ensuring confidentiality of all medical records and tracking all requests made for records; supporting additional projects as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in applied science or science
- 3+ years of medical records experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively
