NaphCare is hiring a Medical Records Clerk for the Alabama Therapeutic Education Facility in Columbiana, AL. The role involves maintaining, organizing, and processing inmates' medical records alongside correctional officers and medical staff providing care to residents. Key responsibilities include entering patient information into electronic systems, maintaining physical and digital filing, ensuring documentation accuracy, handling medical information requests according to HIPAA, managing mail and phone communication regarding records, and performing clerical duties.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, a minimum typing speed of 45 wpm, strong communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and must pass background checks and drug screening. Physical capability to perform tasks including standing long periods, patient lifting, and CPR is required.
