Medical Records Coordinator

Join us as a Medical Records Coordinator for our onsite Medical Center managing patient medical records of all residents in our Continuing Care neighborhoods.

Compensation starts at $23/hour, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and review medical records for completion and deficiencies on resident discharges
  • Code admission/discharge diagnoses using ICD-10 for Medicare and regulatory compliance
  • Perform monthly audits of discharge records
  • Participate in Nurse Management, QA/QI, Operations, and Resident Care Management teams
  • Evaluate clinical information and assign appropriate ICD-10 CM and CPT codes to ensure billing accuracy
  • Audit incomplete records and prepare delinquency reports, ensuring HIPAA-compliant medical record release
  • Manage QA/QI program components per long-term care facility regulations and assist in developing monitoring follow-up procedures
  • Provide backup to MDS Coordinator for state transmissions

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility medical record regulations and retrieval practices
  • Proficiency in interdisciplinary communication and coordination
  • Strong understanding of medical record regulations, standards, and terminology
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
