Medical Records Specialist

You will assist the HIM Director by managing the Horizon Patient Folder (HPF)/McKesson Patient Folder (MPF) workflow queues, working 3M 360 Encompass worklists, resolving unbilled accounts, and processing physician suspensions. Serve as the primary contact in the HIM Director/Coordinator's absence.

Responsibilities include retrieving and reconciling discharged medical records, facilitating record retrieval and storage of documents and alternate media, assisting with physician suspension processes, preparing records for scanning, indexing documentation, conducting quality control of scanned documents, completing certification and continuing education for birth certificate processing, interacting with parents to collect and guide on birth information and forms, and reviewing records for required birth information.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Hospital or medical office experience preferred but not required. Strong preference for experience handling patient health information, medical records imaging, or medical records. State certification for birth certificate processing may be required; training and fees provided.
