Medical Records Clerk

NaphCare is hiring a Medical Records Clerk to join the team at Bullock Correctional Facility in Union Springs, Alabama. The role involves maintaining, organizing, and processing inmates' medical records within the correctional facility.

Responsibilities include entering patient information into electronic systems, filing documents, maintaining physical and digital filing systems, ensuring the accuracy and quality of medical documentation, handling medical information requests from authorized parties while adhering to HIPAA and privacy regulations, managing related communications, and performing routine clerical tasks.

This position involves working alongside correctional officers and healthcare professionals to provide care for incarcerated individuals. Physical abilities required include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing CPR as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with correctional healthcare policies
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
