Personal Injury law firms hire companies like Legal Monkeys to call medical providers to receive medical records and bills on their behalf.

As a Records Specialist, you will spend your day making calls, sending emails, and working with medical providers to gather records. You will have a structured daily workflow with a set of tasks to complete. This role provides exposure to the legal and healthcare industries and helps build organization, task management, and professional communication skills.

Duties include interacting with case managers and providers via phone, email, and chat; working through assigned records requests; retrieving medical records and bills for law firms; ensuring special authorizations are completed; tracking request progress; building relationships with providers and coworkers; maintaining professionalism handling steady workload; solving unexpected problems; and other assigned duties.

Pay & Schedule:

  • $15-$17/hour starting rate (based on qualifications)
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m
  • No nights or weekends

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone regularly

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting, standing or bending
  • Ability to use standard office technology (keyboard, computer, headset, mouse) with or without accommodation
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • On-site attendance required
