Salary: $60,000.00 per year

Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Medical Office Health Records Specialist, or Medical Records Technician, plus two years of experience in health information, billing, or coding, and one year of supervisory experience managing staff.
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
- Certified Health Information Manager (CHIM) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training acceptable.
Candidates must pass a background check including real estate tax verification and drug/medical exams.
Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing creation, security, and maintenance of patient data, ensuring HIPAA and legal compliance. Supervises medical records technicians and clerk typists, audits records, and maintains electronic health record (EHR) systems. Requires travel between four centers.
Duties include:
- Ensuring strict adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality laws (HIPAA).
- Guiding staff on handling and management of medical records.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive and accurate medical records.
- Implementing systems for storage, retrieval, and updating of electronic and paper medical records.
- Supervising coding, indexing, filing, and auditing of medical records.
- Training and leading staff.
- Partnering with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, timely patient documentation.
Knowledge in HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding.
Skills include EHR software, Microsoft Office, medical record software, coding systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.
Abilities include prioritizing tasks, attention to detail, updating compliance standards, effective communication, problem analysis, organizational skills, staff leadership, confidentiality maintenance, and travel within centers.
Residency requirement: Allegheny County within one year.
