Patient Care Coordinator

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to provide clerical support for our patients. If you are passionate about providing your patients with exemplary care, while being sensitive to their individual psychiatric conditions, you would be a great addition to our team.

Launched as our newest site in 2023, Silver Spring, Maryland is home to our exceptionally innovative and highly distinguished programs that redefine our industry and raise the standard for comprehensive care.

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 10:00am - 6:00pm

What You'll Do:

  • Greet and orient all patients, visitors, and staff who enter the building.
  • Answer incoming calls in a warm and welcoming manner.
  • Maintain neat and orderly reception area.
  • Maintain awareness of patients, visitors, and staff who are in the building.
  • Complete intake calls and schedule intake appointments.
  • Reach out to families to schedule family therapy appointments and outpatient psychiatrist appointments.
  • Provide intake to new clients, verifying accuracy of demographics, insurance, and completion of forms to be entered in charts timely.
  • Maintain patient charts according to confidentiality standards and policy, following HIPAA requirements.
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Record system to verify and schedule patient appointments.
  • Obtain payment methods for program or outpatient appointments, collect payments, and issue receipts.
  • Open and close facility timely in accordance to procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient operations including computers, office equipment, copiers, fax, scanner, postage equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
  • High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and able to work assigned schedule

Compass Health Center is a recognized leader in crisis-level mental health, delivering patient-centered care through Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs. Based in Chicagoland, serving ages 5 through adulthood either onsite or via virtual programming, filling gaps between outpatient and inpatient care with behavioral healthcare.
