The Patient Administrative Coordinator serves as the initial contact for patients and staff regarding administrative aspects of Out of State and Program patient visits. This role coordinates registration, financial verification, clearance, and physician visit assignments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contacting patients and families to complete or verify registration, update insurance info, and serve as primary contact for non-clinical questions and scheduling, referring clinical issues to appropriate staff.
- Maintaining understanding of insurance plans and medical terminology to assist patients with referrals and insurance authorization processes, communicating with external providers, reviewing authorizations for accuracy, obtaining supporting documentation, and advising patients on coverage.
- Coordinating administrative preparation for patient visits while maintaining financial integrity; providing patients with relevant program information and notifying care teams of obstacles.
- Reporting on Out of State availability and issues impacting scheduling; working with reports to ensure accurate billing.
Additional duties include acting as back-up for absences and performing miscellaneous tasks.

Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in administrative, healthcare, communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years administrative experience in healthcare, including scheduling and insurance verification; experience with third party insurance plans preferred.

Salary Range: $22.76 to $30.10 per hour, no annual salary specified.
