Medical Records Clerk

NaphCare is hiring a Medical Records Clerk to join our team of medical professionals at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati, OH.

As a Correctional Medical Records Clerk, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals who provide care to the individuals in residence. This unique position allows you to make a difference in this diverse population of patients.

Responsibilities include entering patient information into electronic systems, filing documents, maintaining physical and digital filing systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy of medical documentation, handling requests for medical information from authorized parties while adhering to HIPAA and other privacy regulations, managing mail and phone communications related to medical records, creating, updating, and organizing inmate medical records, and performing routine clerical tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism, adhering to correctional healthcare policies and legal requirements.
  • Must pass facility criminal background check and drug screening.

Physical Capabilities:

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining balance and endurance throughout the shift.
