The primary role of the Patient Coordinator is to support front-office operations by maintaining efficient scheduling, coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance, processing payments, and ensuring accurate patient data for billing and reporting purposes. This position is non-clinical and focuses on delivering positive patient experience while supporting office workflow and administrative needs.
- Greet and assist patients professionally to ensure a positive front-office experience
- Check-in patients ensuring all necessary information is recorded in patient management software
- Collect co-payments and check-out patients
- Run and process applicable reports
- Monitor office emails
- Utilize RevenueWell for appointment confirmations, communication with patients, and insurance requests
- Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations
- Balance registers daily and complete next day router preparation
- Multi-task and manage priorities under pressure (patients walking in, phones ringing, etc.)
- Schedule patients, filling same-day or next-day openings as needed
- Monitor and respond to office voicemails
- Support Office Manager with end-of-day processes
- Escalate issues to Office Manager
Requirements:
- Ability to reliably arrive on time to support office hours
- Flexible schedule occasionally based on business needs
- Subject to background screening per applicable laws
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
- Ability to balance registers accurately
- Strong communication skills
- Ethical conduct and confidentiality
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Clear and professional communication with patients and team members in person and by phone
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dental or medical front desk experience preferred
