Vista Community Clinic (VCC) is a private, non-profit, multi-specialty outpatient clinic with 14 clinics serving over 70,000 patients annually across San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties. As a Medical Records Technician (temporary), you will perform clerical functions including preparing and electronically filing medical charts, compiling data for reports, preparing standard forms, assisting Compliance officers with audit preparations, and providing technical support for scanning procedures within the clinic system.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing paperwork for completeness prior to scanning
- Managing documents related to interfaces with outside entities (e.g., TCMC, HIE)
- Forwarding medical record releases promptly to third parties
- Ensuring medical record release forms are obtained and accurately completed
Minimum qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least one year of general office experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
Preferred qualifications:
- At least one year experience in a community clinic
- At least one year health records experience
Required skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with computers, Microsoft Word and Excel, business email communication, and internet searching
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one year general office experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of medical terminology
