The US Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join the team at Texas Oncology's clinic located at 500 W. 3rd Street, Odessa, Texas. This full-time role supports the Revenue Cycle Department, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The position offers levels 1, 2, or Senior based on experience.
Texas Oncology delivers high-quality, evidence-based cancer care in the community, treating half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer annually and supported by a large network of oncology providers.
As a Patient Service Coordinator, responsibilities include professionally greeting patients and visitors, registering and scheduling appointments efficiently, managing communications between patients and clinical staff, and supporting compliance with organizational ethics and standards.
Key duties:
- Greet and check in patients, notify clinical staff of arrivals
- Provide and collect patient forms, update demographics and insurance info
- Collect co-pays and provide receipts
- Answer and route calls, take accurate messages
- Schedule follow-up appointments per physician guidelines
- Record cancellations/missed appointments and reschedule
- File charts and maintain lobby and supplies
- Adhere to confidentiality, HIPAA, and applicable laws
- Other administrative support as assigned
Qualifications: Level 1: High school diploma or equivalent; some receptionist or office experience preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; completion of required e-learning courses within 90 days.
Level 2: All Level 1 plus at least 18 months medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Senior: All Level 1 and 2 plus at least 5 years of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Physical demands include sitting, using hands, occasional walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.
