NaphCare is hiring a Medical Records Clerk ART Supervisor to join the medical team at Kilby Correctional Facility in Mt. Meigs, Alabama. This role includes maintaining, organizing, and processing inmates' medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation, handling medical information requests compliant with HIPAA, and managing clerical tasks such as filing, phone answering, and mail handling. The position involves collaboration with correctional officers and medical professionals to provide care to the inmate population.
Responsibilities include:
- Entering patient data into electronic systems and maintaining physical/digital filing systems
- Ensuring quality and accuracy of medical documentation
- Handling requests for medical information from authorized parties adhering to privacy regulations
- Managing incoming/outgoing mail and relevant communications
- Creating, updating, and organizing inmates' medical records
- Performing various routine clerical duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel; typing speed of at least 45 wpm
- Strong written and verbal communication skills adaptable to stressful environments
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare policies and legal requirements
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, and perform CPR while maintaining balance and endurance throughout a shift.
