SeniorMed Primary Care Center is currently seeking full-time Medical Assistants (MAs), Medical Office Assistants (MOAs), or Medical Coders who have a passion for providing the highest quality care at the appropriate skill level. MAs and MOAs will be part of SeniorMed's collaborative team comprised of supportive clinical and administrative staff. The patient population is geriatric-aged and mostly covered through Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. MAs and MOAs are expected to provide a standard of care that meets or exceeds that of a reasonably competent and knowledgeable MA/MOA. Duties performed will be within their scope of practice delegated by, and under the supervision of a PA/NP or physician.
Responsibilities include assisting physicians, NP/PA, and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures; maintaining established quality control standards and understanding value-based care model; recording and processing patient care documentation quickly and accurately; coordinating patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies; organizing, stocking and cleaning exam and treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments; maintaining quality control standards and required Medical Assistant and CPR certifications; managing multiple priorities and working in multiple departments/locations.
This role is fast paced and requires quick learning and adaptability. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided, and work is on-site with patients and members.
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED
- Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or Medical Office Assistant Certification
- Current CPR and/or BLS certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Required Tuberculosis screening and proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation, vaccination records, or doctor diagnosis
- Ability to perform on-site work with appropriate PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant / Medical Office Assistant or related medical setting experience
- ICD-10 and CPT coding experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Microsoft Office experience
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client and/or patient sites (if applicable)
