Duties:

Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories.
Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status.
Prepare patients for examinations or procedures in dermatology and surgical units.
Support physicians with clinical tasks such as wound dressing changes, surgical procedures and specimen collection.
Document clinical notes accurately using medical terminology and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for billing and record-keeping purposes.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a welcoming environment in diverse healthcare settings.

Qualifications:

Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; certification must be current.
Proven experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital environments, surgery or specialty areas such as dermatology.
Experience in surgical procedures is required.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessments and documentation.
Experience with EHR systems for efficient charting and data management.
Familiarity with hospital protocols and OR (Operating Room) procedures.
Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care excellence; ability to handle intake processes smoothly in fast-paced settings like urgent care or hospital medicine.
